Mixed bloodlines will usually have just two breeds and have the papers to prove that they are the exact breeds you are looking for. A lot of people seel puppies cause their dog ended up getting bred by a dog they weren’t the owners of and are just trying to get rid of them cause they are not pure breeds. Just have to ask for papers and do some research to find the breed you are looking for.
A reputable breeder has no need to list their puppies on puppy finder, because they have people waiting in the line to purchase their dogs. It’s not uncommon to wait 2-3 years for a puppy from a good, reputable breeder.
I would like to get a mixed dog breed and I’ve noticed there are a lot for sale and I need help finding out which breeders are good and which ones are bad.
Simple: any breeders breeding mixed-breed dogs are back yards breeders.
Reputable breeders:
-Breed to better the breed.
-Test for genetic health problems.
-Show OR work their dogs.
Back Yard breeders:
-Breed mostly for money.
-Breed because they just like to breed dogs.
-Don’t test for genetic health problems and just claim their dogs are healthy because ‘the vet said so.’
-Don’t show or work their dogs because their dog’s job is “being a good pet”
If you’re looking for a mix, try
No reputable breeder sells mixed breeds, with the possible, rare exception of dogs such as Labradoobles or Golden Doodles.
If you want a mixed breed, there are plenty at animal shelters.
ALL breeders of mixed-breeds are backyard breeders. Simply because there are so many mutts dying in shelters.
If you settle on a purebred dog, here’s a good comparison list:
simple
reputable breeders DO NOT breed mixed breed dogs. Want a mix? Go to your local shelter. You can get the SAME THING for a fraction of the cost.. and save a life instead of encouraging more breeding.
ADDED
It doesnt matter if you slap a cutesy name like “labradoodle” on it.. a mutt is still a mutt.. it doesnt have predictable traits or qualities, and its not responsible to breed mixes when there’s already thousands of them in shelters.
Good breeders don’t breed mixed dogs.
You can find millions of mixed breeds at the shelters.
I would put more trust in the backyard breeder with the lowest price
Sorry Hun, but everyone is right.
Most reputable breeders will have papers on the bloodline of each dog.
You won’t get a mixed breed from a reputable breeder – it’s that simple.
Responsible breeders breed purebreds after health testing and health clearances then show/work/compete their dogs in order to prove their worth for breeding.
If you want a mixed breed, your local shelter probably has a whole pile to choose from. It would be cheaper to, since the back yard greeders breeding these “labradoodles” etc charge a small fortune for their badly bred pups, more so, even, than responsible breeders charge.
Edit: Okay, how the hell did “show breeders sell sick pups” get 5 thumbs up?! They talk rubbish, and they wouldn’t know what good breeding was if it came up and bit them on the ass!
What the ones saying responsible breeders don’t breed mutts and I are saying is the truth. Accept it you idiots!
Reputable breeders stick to one breed
Back Yard Breeders breed with more than one kind of breed making making mutts..
If you want a mixed dog, rescue a mutt from a shelter. That’s all mixed dogs are. There is no such thing as a good breeder when they make mutts.
They are actually cheaper from shelters. They come already spayed or neutered. You don’t have to deal with the hassle and $$ of that. And the dogs only cost about $200 give or take a little. It’s much more expensive to buy one from a “breeder” and pay for the spay/neuter yourself, all the shots, etc. The shots are taken care of at the shelter.
The money you pay a shelter goes to help feed and house other homeless dogs. The money you pay most breeders goes to line their pockets.
Having said all that, many reputable breeders do rescue, so they may well have mutts for adoption, but guaranteed, they didn’t make these mutts.
A mutt is just a mix of two or more breeds.
Easy, a reputable breeder would not be creating mutts.
If you don’t want to get ripped off by a byb, look for someone selling puppies the cheapest. They are more than likely wanting decent homes for the pups and are not out to make a profit. They realize the pups are mutts, and therefore not worth hundreds of dollars.
Personally, I think if you want a mutt, go to a shelter. I am sure you will be able to find a pup there that would suit you. Why pay good money for a mutt from the so called “breeder”.
Well of course many say none are good but you should go to a breeder who doesn’t ask an outrageous price. The breeding should have been planned.Pups should be vet checked, vaccinated and dewormed and raised in the home.Go to a breeder who can tell you about their dogs and answer your questions. What breed are you considering?
If you are looking for a mixed breed dog, go to the shelter or petfinder.com. There will be adoption fees to pay for the care of the animals. People should not be selling mixed breed dogs, they should just find them good homes. If they just got shots or something to defray costs, maybe. To breed mixed breed dogs on purpose is just ridiculous when there are so many shelter dogs in need of homes. Reputable breeders do not sell mutts. Spay and neuter!
The Humane Society of the United States has a list of tips for how to be responsible when you adopt a puppy at . The second item in the list includes a link to additional tips for finding responsible breeders. The main objective of this website is to educate people about puppy mills, but the tips will also be helpful for avoiding a backyard breeder.
Please consider adopting a dog from a shelter! Most of them are there because the owner had a problem, not because the dog had a problem. A dog is a new member of your family, not a fashion accessory, so finding one with a temperament suitable for your lifestyle is more important than finding a trendy breed.
if you want a mixed breed, PLEAAAASSSEE go to a shelter! anyone who breeds mixed breeds is a backyard breeder
Mixed breed dogs = BYB.
There’s your answer.
Want a mutt/mongrel? Go to the shelter and save a life.
I like this chart
You get mixed breeds from shelters, no reputable breeder would ever breed them.
back yard breeders are better because they are sometimes cheaper than show breeders. they arent worried about doing health testing or breeding quality. a dog is just a dog after all so why pay more?
you dont want to go to a shelter tho. sure its the same thing, but you cant use the cute designer names on shelter dogs!
show breeds care nothing about health just looks for show ring..they inbreed linebreed and selective breed…bybers don’t care about shows so they don’t do that kind of breeding…
