Will good breeders list their puppies on puppyfinder

Breed rescue can easily be found pretty much anywhere if you look good enough. What breed are you looking for? Just put the breed and rescue in a search engine and the state you are in and usually it will pop up with a site with contact information. Good breeders have to be located — there are tons of people who profess to be good ones but most aren’t. Most of the breed clubs will have breeder referals but even among those you will have to do your homework and weed out the millers.

I am looking for another puppy, and the breed I am looking for I am having a difficult time finding a breeder/rescue locally. Will a quality breeder list their pups on sites like puppy finder? I worry about mass producers using these types of sites to sell their animals, but I may have to get my puppy this way. Are their any breeders out there that can tell me if they would list on a site like this?

Nope. Reputable breeders don’t sell on websites like that.

Maybe try Rescues, or Pet Finder instead.

  2. TKS says:

Usually not, although a few less well known reputable breeders may advertise there just to get their name out. (ie. only have puppies every couple of years). Buyer beware at a site like that.

actually if you are looking for a puppy you ushally should look in the paper bc you can go out to the place near you and if you dislike the conditions you can just call another.
also many dogs that are breed always have homes
think of the ones that dont.
    ARF
    SPCA
    ASPCA. or even the POUND
    think about it

If you do an internet search for your chosen breed, you should be able to find websites of different breeders. Look over their website and if you think you like what you see, contact them and ask for references.

Get on a breed list or chat group and find out who the good breeders are, who is just trying to make a fast buck and who is considered a puppy miller.

the AKC and UKC have breeder lists, that often list websites or email addresses. you can write a form letter and send it off to multiple breeders, or individually and request for the type of puppy you are looking for.

also, when you are searching on google, try adding “CH” which means champion and look for show dog homes of breeders who show their dogs.

No, they are all puppy millers or back yard greeders. Actually it is rare you will find a good breeder selling dogs/pups on the internet at all — it has become the cheap newspaper ad of the century and responsible breeders don’t advertise like that. A good breeder doesn’t breed a lot — breeds for specific purposes and not just a ‘seasonal’ litter to sell off.. Most of the breed club sites will tell you about various health issues and you need to locate someone that cares about health, temperament and structure not just one part that they happen to like — you own a complete dog not a part of one… Good luck…

No, but he– no, no way, I would give them away first, and I dont breed to sell pups, but to improve the breed standard, I show my dogs, and if a pet quality puppy, then I find a good home for the dog at no cost to the new owner…..most of these breeders are byb’s, puppymills, pet stores, they are bad……

    go to//////////////////////////////////////

this is a trusted site, and akc recommends all the breeders on this website, they are all good reputable breeders, and are listed in all areas……..if they tell you they ship and need a deposit, trust me, you will get your dog from them…akc does recommend bad breeders….and no way does reputable breeders have to list on a puppy-finder…that only mean they cant sell their pups and try to unload bad bred dogs or sickly dogs to the unknowing public……….if people like yourself would ask questions, we could put a stop to all these bad breeders….

you can find all breeds with the AKC Website, and you can trust it.

No. A reputable breeder has no need to list their puppies on puppy finder, because they have people waiting in the line to purchase their dogs. It’s not uncommon to wait 2-3 years for a puppy from a good, reputable breeder. One reason that BYB’s succeed- in today’s got it have it now society, people are not willing to wait for that great puppy, so they settle for the poorly bred ones.

  11. kathleen d says:

Not usually. They normally have waiting lists and deposits from the prospective owners and backup owners incase anyone changes their minds. i had to wait 2 years for my pup. They do list their pups on their own websites. Do a search for the breed you are looking for and go directly to their sites.
