Honestly, I agree with hispoint, although I do believe that his statistics may be a little off. It’s just sad seeing wonderful animals sitting in those shelters and you just know next week they’ll be in the freezer. I volunteer at a no-kill animal rescue that pulls from the shelters. It’s so hard helping people to understand why we fix the animals before we adopt them out. Some people just don’t care about the homeless animal population. Some people just don’t know about it.

I have seen reputable breeders who breed AKC purbred to breed/show standards and many do it out of their homes. I have also seen people who breed mixed breeds out of their home under the same conditions. So why are BYB’s only labeled as such for breeding mixed breeds when many “reputable” breeders breed out of their homes as well?
